Perception NYC Edit Wraps

At its core, Perception NYC is a cutting edge design lab that is focused on crafting extraordinary creative solutions for their clients and creative partners. Most recently, Perception completed special effects work on 125+ shots for this year’s summer blockbuster, Iron Man 2. The company also completed work on countless projects for clients like NBC, HBO, Showtime, Powerade, and more.

A View Of You was hired to showcase the firm’s talents via three design showreels — a company montage featuring motion work from all of their clients, an Iron Man reel showcasing the special effects scenes, and an Iron Man before-and-after reel. In five days, Jonathan Healey at A View Of You, edited the showreels for Perception NYC. Here is a look at them:

New Partnership with Relix Magazine Begins

In the past, A View Of You has worked with Relix Magazine to create broadcast commercials, EPKs for their Green Apple Festival, and motion graphics content for their annual Jammys Award Show. Continuing with a new partnership, Relix Magazine has contracted Jonathan Healey at A View Of You to produce, direct, and edit their on-line video content. Healey has been shooting and editing in-office performances and interviews with artists like John Butler, Daniel Lanois, Trixie Whitley, Big Light, The Whigs, and Findlay Brown. Healey is also managing and mentoring the website’s video intern and freelance staff. Here are a two highlights from Relix’s New York City office:

Gathering of the Vibes Artist Line-Up Animation

Today, Gathering of the Vibes Music Festival announced their 2010 artist line-up using an animated video created by Jonathan Healey at A View Of You. Vibes Creative Director, Scott Rosenfield, provided A View Of You with cutouts from hundreds of high-resolution concert photos. The photos were positioned inside several 3D, After Effects comps creating a virtual Gathering of the Vibes festival site. The animation follows a concert-goer who walks along Seaside Park as band names are revealed. The project was completed in 3-days and is posted at GoVibes.com.

Animating Relix.com and Jambands.com Projection For Re-Launch Party at Brooklyn Bowl

Tonight, Relix Magazine will be hosting a re-launch party, for their websites Relix.com and Jambands.com, at Brooklyn Bowl. A View Of You created animations which showcase both website’s webpages. The video will be projected onto high-definition screens throughout Brooklyn Bowl. The video was animated using Adobe After Effects.

Animated: RAQ Returns Faux-Movie Trailer — 4.30.10

In anticipation of the return of Burlington, Vermont rock outfit RAQ, Jonathan Healey at A View Of You animated this parody, epic movie trailer to promote the band’s reunion show at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom. The video was created in high-definition using After Effects. The concept for the video (as outlined by Chris Michetti, Todd Stoops, and Healey) was to playfully poke fun at the jamband “reunion video” with a high-impact, professional looking, faux-movie trailer.
